I just received my NOA1 in the mail. We're all in the same boat together! I hope you and your loved ones are safe and strong during these trying times, may it make the bond between you deeper and more durable.

If you dont mind me asking, how long did it take for you to receive the NOA1 from date of receipt from the mail carrier (USPS/FEDEX/UPS/etc)

We just received notification from USPS that our application has been received by the USCIS.

Thanks. :)

Can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks after USCIS has logged your file into the system for you to receive your NOA1. Your mileage will vary.

Sorry I don't have the receipt from the mail carrier as I am out of the country so I sent the packet to my house in the U.S. where my dad then sent it to the Texas Lockbox from there. He sent it out on March 6th and I got a text on March 14 that USCIS received the packet. I received the letter yesterday.

Aloha Newhawaiki! I saw that you are from Wailuku. I am from Maui as well. So crazy to find another Hawaiian in this forum. Good luck on your journey and thanks for the info you provided.

No need to be, just take a deep breath. You have to pace yourself don't  freak out now you just started. You'll be fine.

Thank you. I’ve read so many stories about being patient and not stressing. Once I get my NOA1, I think I will be able to breathe a little easier.

Hello everyone! Mailed my paperwork out on 3/13 through USPS. It is supposed to arrive 3/16 by 8 p.m. at the TX P.O. Box. I am a bundle of nerves 😬

This entire process is about patience. At times it feels like eternity to hear back from USCIS/NVC/Embassy. USCIS states that it can take up to 5 months to adjudicate your application from NOA1. There is not much you can do till you are approved, then once approved you will see that you will be very busy getting documents together, completing your medical and then your interview. Welcome to the thread.

BTW, I miss Bruddah Iz. His E ala E and somewhere over the rainbow is one of the best songs from his song portfolio. I have fond memories of Hawaii. I was stationed there at Pearl Harbor with CINCPACFLT for 4 years. Went back 10 years after leaving that first time and was so disappointing in how things have changed. H1 has destroyed the peacefulness of the island. My opinion.

Hello all. Submitted our application on 27th Feb. Cheque was cashed on 5th March and received sms notification on the same day, so officially a March filer.

Now we have a long wait ahead but I am glad for this community that keeps each other posted and know that we are not alone in this long journey. Hopefully the recent changes don't cause any major delays for the NOA2 🙏

I got a text today that my case was received 😁 My check has also been cashed as of today. I’ve already signed up and enabled notifications to check my case status online. I feel like I can breathe easier now.

Yes. The islands have changed. I moved away when I was in high school to Las Vegas. I didn’t go back for a long time because everyone always came to Vegas. When I finally did, I was shocked at the growth and amount of people. But what has me really sad is the people that come from the mainland and want to change the island ways and culture (like the sugarcane). And the government is letting it happen. It’s no wonder why the Hawaiian people are wanting to break away from the United States. We are losing so many things and it’s heartbreaking.
