Isn’t it the notice date? This is what is prompted when entering details to VJ timeline.

I think this is out dated, because this isn’t even what the first NOA1 looks like anymore.

All I know is that USCIS goes off the received date for processing. If you log onto your my case tracker on the website or app it lists “we received your form on ....” That’s the date they use. The notice date is just when they printed off the paper to mail it to you.

Is the NOA1 date the notice date or the received date ?

The NOA1 date is the "notice date" printed on the hardcopy that you received, and you can locate from this example: https://www.visajourney.com/images/noa-date.jpg

USCIS processes off of this date, which is most definitely the received date.

Hello how are you guys ? I am getting married to my fiancé in Colombia and we just sent sent our file to uscis in California... I have an attorney helping me with this case but he’s referring another attorney to help us out in filing a “waiver” because my fiancé previously got banned from the US. Is this common ? I thought the attorney would be able to handle the whole case and not have to hire two attorneys.

Seems like the Current processing times on VJ shows the notice date.

In the grand scheme of things, the notice date or the received date are within days of each other's so neither is going to move the timeline needle much to impact anyone's visa.

I was in a similar position. Spoke to my lawyer and said that since my fiance has been out of the US for more than 10 years, she does not need to fill out form i-212 (i checked with 3 different lawyers and they all said the same thing). not sure what your fiance's case is though.

yeah I believe once you complete the 10 years you don’t need a waiver , but my fiancé I believe she got banned for 5 years because she was making money as a babysitter on a tourist visa and they ended up deporting her back so I spoke with my attorney and we have to do some waiver to waive the ban. How did it go for you? How long did your process take ?
