I saw someone say 'the USCIS approved *X* amount of K-1 visas today'... Where do you go to see that info?

You can use a phone app to search through records before yours and after yours to see what is taking place and how close you might be. "your mileage may vary".  It's all a guessing game. Also, try using the blue ribbon above, select "processing times".

Hello March Filers.

I lost my full-time job due to COVID. Today was my last day. Thankfully I was able to find another one  before my last day, since the company gave us notice. I start the new job on Monday 7/6. It's a "long term contract" role. It pays well above the income requirement for K1.

My question is, will I still need a co-sponsor since the job is a contract and not full-time?

Thanks in advance

Contract or "full-time" does not make a difference. They are only looking for income that will meet or exceed the poverty levels. You have no worries. "your mileage may vary"

Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum! My first post here :)

I submitted my K1 application on March 25. Received the Notice of Action on April 2. Does anyone know if I'll receive the next letter by email or by mail? Thanks so much!!

@ChloeS welcome!! The NOA2 should definitely come by mail to the petitioner (which you want to keep for your records and to use during adjustment of status later down the road). If you guys opted for electronic notification (G-1145), then you should theoretically receive electronic notification (email or text - I received my NOA1 via text, so I'm assuming that's the way the NOA2 will come for us). I say theoretically after reading through past month forums where petitioners did not get an electronic notification and rather found out about their I-129F approval through one of the tracking apps.

The petitioner will receive their NOA1 and NOA2 by mail. The NOA2 is not a requirement for your AOS after marriage so not a real need to have a copy. Correspondence for the beneficiary will come email so be sure that your email address is up to date when you go to fill out your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. We recommend that when your file is at NVC that you also update your email address with them. Details of these steps are outlined in the link below.

@Greenbaum so we don't need to hold onto the NOA2? I was going by the information I was reading in the AOS checklist under the immigration guides. I mean, I'm more than happy if it's one less thing we need to bother with.

Yes of course you need to hold onto it as you never know what might change in the future, you'd be wise to keep ALL correspondence from USCIS!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Nothing in the process should be tossed away. If you receive it just file it with the rest of your immigration documentation. May I have the link to the AOS checklist you are referring to? Thanks

Yes, of course!

It's what I found under the Guides -> Immigration Guides --> Permanent Residency, Work and Overseas Travel --> Adjustment of Status Guide (K1 & K3 Visa Holders) --> #6 under the Assembling I-485 Package: Checklist.

Whatever guidance you all can give me, I appreciate it. My fiance and I are still early on in this process, and I don't want to give misinformation to others and possibly get them worked up about unnecessary things. 😬😅

Thanks for the link. Here is the "official" requirement for this issue. A NOA1 or a NOA2 fits this requirement. The item they are looking for is the A# which is used to look up your case.

Documentation of immigrant category, such as a copy of Form I-797, Approval or Receipt Notice, for the Form I-130 filed on your behalf (unless you are filing your Form I-485 with the Form I-130 filed on your behalf)

https://www.uscis.gov/i-485Checklist

Also, there have been many who have submitted their AOS packet without the NOA1/2 and were greeted with a GC. Even though this is an older thread, the information it still holds true as there are more current threads with others who have had no problems without the submission of a NOA2.
