Help with my case status please

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has been in the same situation as me and how it turned out.

As you can see from my timeline, I applied for AOS in October 2006. I was then transferred to CSC. I found out on May 8, 2007 that my case is being transferred back to the National Benefits Center. It has been sitting there ever since without any touches.

Do you think they lost it or did I just go back to the bottom of the pile? I’m not sure if I should set up an infopass or just wait it out.

Any help into the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Yikes...that looks like something I'd go to Infopass with just so you can find out what's going on (if they sent any sort of interview letter or what is happening). If they cannot (or will not) help, you should ask for senatorial assistance. It seems like if they transferred it back to NBC that you would have an interview. Very confusing and frustrating, I'm sorry. Good luck.

Just a guess, based on your timeline... but it looks like it's been a year since you arrived on the K-3 visa. It may be that since it has been over a year, things like your medical have expired. I've heard of some other people who have gone too long in waiting and had to re-do a medical or something of that sort.

transfers to CSC then back to NBC/MSC aren't unheard of, typically it just results in having to have an interview. there is one member I can think of who transferred to CSC ---> back to NBC/MSC---> then back to CSC.

Thanks for the explanation. I couldn’t get to a computer this weekend to check the responses.

I assumed that it meant I would be having an interview soon but I still haven’t got anything in the mail or any touches. I really hope I don’t have to do another medical! I thought if you had applied before your medical was one year old then you were good and didn’t need another one. I’m sure I would get an RFE if that is the case though.

I think I will give it a couple more weeks and if there aren’t any touches I will make an infopass while I’m on vacation.
