your timeline (thanks for doing one) says you arrived 2/1/2018 so only 2 years here not 2 years and 2 months

you need to wait till November to apply and be sure it is exactly 90 days or less / do not apply ahead / you will loose money

what is the “resident since” date on your green card?

add 3 years to that, enter that date here https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator and it will give you earliest filing date.

You can start completing the form at any time. You cannot submit it or make the payment until you are eligible. I filled out the form before I was eligible and then when I was eligible it was all ready to go and I just had to pay and press “submit”.

The advice that says you can apply 2 years and 9 months from the date your became a lawful permanent resident is wrong.

You can apply in 3 years minus 90 days from the date night of LPR. While that is close to two years and 9 months it isn’t the same. Close counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. It counts for nothing in N-400 submissions.

If you fill out the form online early, bare in mind it only holds the information for 30 days, make sure to keep it 'active' by saving every few weeks or it will be blank when you come back to it.

I guess you missed the post where poster was provided with the USCIS early filing calculator to be able to get the exact date.

This!  ^^^

Very important and the calculator is helpful because early submission is 90 days, not three calendar months. So it is not really 2 years and 9 months.  It is THREE years less 90 days.  So many people fall into this trap.

USCIS will take your money. The online portal for applying does not screen you for your date or let you know if you're about to throw your cash down the toilet.  They will take payment and deny your application.

Even though posts here sometimes look like they are cold and curt, those who have been through this process and or researched it thoroughly understand what is at stake and we are just trying to make sure nobody endures any more unnecessary/avoidable stress, financial loss and heartache than this process will already put you through.
