Yes could be a problem depending on number of months she will be out of US. Maintaining continuous residency is the key.

She is going until she get her interview date

Probably for 5 months

At my interview the officer asked me about my different trips to Europe, sometime for few months. I had good reasons and he was very cool with it. Depending on the circumstances i guess.

Don't confuse my personality with my attitude....My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are...

Which field office? How long do people usually wait for interviews in that office?

The trip must be <6 months to prevent disruption to "continuous residency."

IOE just means it's something that was electronically filed. You can review the status of a an IOE receipt number here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

Officially a U.S. Citizen!

fyi my interview was one day short of a year from application. Some offices wait longer than I did. 5 months may ...or may not..be feasible. Long time to spend away from a spouse, hope you don't miss her too much/or will visit frequently.

I am slightly confused though, is this a different wife than the one you filed an affidavit of support for just last month, with the interview a few days later that you had wanted to reschedule??
