(L-R) OHA Director Pat Allen, Gov. Kate Brown, Multnomah County Health Officer Dr. Jennifer Vines at a press conference about coronavirus, February 28, 2020 (KOIN)

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon health officials have declared the “first presumptive case of [the] novel coronavirus,” found in the state, said Oregon Health Authority on Friday.

The adult patient is a Washington County resident and is currently isolated in a hospital, said OHA Director Patrick Allen during the Friday evening press conference. The individual had previously been under investigation as someone who possibly had the virus. A test conducted by the Public Health Laboratory in Hillsboro returned positive results for that patient mid-day Friday, said Allen.

I knew you weren't,  and I wasn't trying to be difficult, just following the rules is all.  I'll check out the link, thanks.

And to clear the whole thing up, the info above came to me in an email due to my upcoming travel back to the US, so it is shareable after all.  It came from the airline I will be traveling on.

Obviously they believe all the workers will become infected thereby leaving our water exposed to festering sewage... and umm... we'll all run out of TP because of tree zombies.

When she is finished with me she will just poison me.

A man walking in the park passed a bench, where there sat another man who was weeping bitterly.

Sympathetically, the first man asked, "What's the matter, fellow?"

"I'm a widower for the third time -- my third wife just died," was the tearful response.

"That's terrible!" said the first man.  "How did your first wife die?"

"From eating poisoned mushrooms," the tearful man said.

"And how did the second one die?" asked the first man.

"From eating poisoned mushrooms, too," said the tearful man.

"And how did your third wife die?" asked the first man.

"She was strangled," said the tearful man.  "She wouldn't eat her mushrooms."

I believe, but cannot confirm that the teenager has passed away. :( Was this the same kid from last night? His story sounded as if once again the CDC failed in testing him causing him to expose others and delaying treatment.

Unless there may have been someone else already positive in Washington state. They haven't confirmed the identity yet. The earlier article said a high school kid in Washington was one of the first positives in the USA with no travel history, and then the next update said a patient in Washington had died.

Teenage kid?  NBC news just said it was a woman in her 50s?

Dunno, I feel like the WH might be behind on info. They were standing outside the hospital and stated it was a 19 year old. They are to have a press conference later, so I guess we'll see if it's one death or two.
