Coronavirus’s spread in U.S. is ‘inevitable,’ CDC warns

Governor Hogan held a press conference a little bit ago. Under our rules an emergency declaration gives a governor broad powers and he's already making some big changes. For one, he's investigating the possibility of having primary elections completely done by mail-in ballots. Access to the DMV will be by appointment only. And perhaps the biggest thing, he's reactivating open enrollment for the MD health exchange for a special period of time.

 

I wanted to post that particular info about the exchange so people from MD on VJ could find it (since people send me so many pm's about health insurance) but I'm just not sure where to put it. I haven't any more details on when enrollment will be activated, but I know a lot of people have been concerned how they could get insurance when enrollment is shut and they don't want to be uninsured while the virus is circulating. I hope that other governors might consider following his example.

Hogan elaborated that all schools will be closed after tomorrow. No more public gatherings, religious gatherings, or sports events. Senior centers will be closed and daycare is being looked at. No more ships coming into the port.

Impeachment didn't take out one you love. This disease is serious and the Whitehouse is just randomly throwing out statements about Cargo blockades, but UK folks are welcome.  

 

We will get through this, despite the incomprehensible incompetence at the helm.

Try the "Moving to the US" forum, si Y ma'am.

Maybe start off with something like "If you've moved to Maryland and missed qualifying for health insurance, [...]."

Then you can point out that this is good for all MD residents (if true).
