Online Status After Interview Approval

I had my interview and the short story is the interview was fine and I was approved (as indicated on the N-652 notice).

There was a complication though which worries me. I sat in the waiting room for a few hours waiting for my number to be called only to eventually learn that a case officer had mistakenly listed me as a "no show" - a supervisor eventually informed me of this error and reassigned my interview to a second case office. So while the second officer approved my case (at least at the time of interview), my online status was updated at some point today to say "we have scheduled your interview"! The first case officer, thinking I wasn't there (no idea how that was concluded), presumably issued me a new interview appointment (while I was literally in the waiting room).

Will the second case officer at some point soon update my profile to say my interview was approved and then things will be on track again? Is there a time frame for when cases are generally updated online after an approval at time of interview? I am worried about getting caught up in this cycle of errors where it becomes impossible to speak to a human who will fix things.

Congrats!

Your N-652 has the name of the IO who interviewed you. You can write to that officer as stated in step #4 of the form. Make sure you scan your form for safekeeping. That's your only proof that you went to your interview and was recommended for approval. In any case, I guess the only other thing you can do is either to call them or to just keep watching both the dhs and egov acccounts and see if the notifications have changed. Hopefully you don't have to wait too long.

Thanks for the tips! And I just scanned the N-652! I will wait a few days...then call...and then write if need be!

Just becoz of the IO ignorance what stress you have to go through. i cant even imagine hopefully you hear the good news in near future. This is absurd and hopefully they should rectify  this mistake by approving the application ASAP.

It’s frustrating and the last thing I need after such a long process 🥴

I just hope it gets fixed soon. It certainly was NOT a possibility I had considered - being labeled as a “no show” when I was literally sitting there with a ticket number!

I see how anxiously people are waiting for their interview including me and being labeled as no show is disprespectful from USCIS. The first immigration officer didnt even bothered to come out and atleast look. I would have lost my temper at that moment but it is not wise at the same time getting stuck in there pipeline for months if they want too.

It was very frustrating given I did everything correctly - arrived early, checked in, received my ticket, waited patiently. My number was never called nor was my name. I was only interviewed because I asked 4 times what was going on?! To wait 10 months and then be erroneously labeled a “no show” while I was sitting in the waiting room was extremely annoying!!

arrggghhh, that's frustrating.

You can try emailing them your letter through your account and you might get lucky that the response is specific to your case. Can't remember if you can attach a file though. From personal experience, their response is a cut and paste type of response. I was happier with the phone call.

For such posted notifications, don't wait too long. Just call them up after today just to remind them that you attended your interview with such IO, when they're going to change notifications etc (for me I would at least like it to say that i've attended the interview). Hope that you don't need to send a letter by the end of the week so that they can get it first thing Monday morning.

Agreed! Should I ask to speak to a level 2 officer? At this point I have no interest in being fobbed off (again) with a generic response that isn’t specific to my case!

I think you should insist. I didn't really push too hard for a L2 officer in my case because my notifications were ok/not sure (got approved applic, got quality review) and that i was just asking if my case was still ok since they had access to my file. I was happy enough with their answer of no red flags and to just wait for the oath notification. Your case needs attention though.
