You can't get Medicare so that's off the table. To have that would be a good thing but it's not absolutely needed. If you have other evidence of a bona fide marriage that's good enough.

You should have health insurance.  What will you do if you get sick or injured?  You will be responsible entirely for those bills without insurance.

What was you and your wife's plan for this when you immigrated, knowing that she was on medicare and that you wouldn't be eligible?  Are you working?  Many people get health insurance through their employers.

Something to discuss with your wife, she is your sponsor and understand how things work in the US, looks like you recently applied for work authorisation.

You should purchase health insurance.  Start by looking at healthcare.gov.

I'm totally with you @Jorgedig that everybody should have health insurance. Just wanted to say that it's not necessary for the AOS to be a dependant on your spouses plan since I understood that as the primary question.

You don't need to have health insurance for your AOS interview. I didn't.

However, for your own future financial safety in the event you do get sick, you should.  healthcare.gov

I sure wouldn't walk into an AOS interview these days, with the current public charge changes, without insurance or a plan to get it.

Absolutely but no need to be on your spouses healthcare.

The ability to not be able to work is not a barrier to obtaining health insurance. You may use the exchange or you may buy a plan privately out of pocket. Many people do this until they are able to work or are offered a work plan.

This is an especially important thing to consider, especially since your spouse is on Medicare, which is something you may not have access to. All US sponsors and their foreign spouses should have a plan in place for health insurance. It's a critical responsibility.

Well you can get Medicare if you are long term sick, time for her to start caring and accepting her responsibilities.

She needs to start caring about *you*, and ensuring you have healthcare is a part of that. Bringing you here was a big responsibility she took on her part, and her youth is not an acceptable excuse.

If your wife has Medicare, you cannot use it. You need to sign up to the exchange or buy privately.
