Incorrect. Just checking No does not necessarily satisfy the requirement.

I posted the RFE. I posted the relevant I-129F section. Read them. It's quite clear. Are you unable to see the I-129F section?

I am not posting my entire I-129F...there is no point in doing so. If there is something specific you want to see, let me know. But I have absolutely no clue whatsoever what other part of the I-129F could possibly be in any way relevant to the RFE reason provided.

USCIS said I checked No on the I-129F regarding if we met via an IMB. USCIS acknowledged that we met through OKCupid. USCIS said I failed to establish that OKCupid is not an IMB. I'm not sure how it could be any more clear.

I missed the Goggle docs link.

The question remains:  what did you do for Q 55?  yes or no?

I've done and I-130 and 2 I-129s and every one listed that we met online (Chinalovematch.com, ChinaCupid.com and Vietnamcupid.com) and never got anything.

IMBRA is not an affirmative action.  You don't have to prove that you DIDN'T use an IMB, but only, IF YOU DID, that the proper disclosures were made.

You got dinged.. probably had the new adjudicator or someone who can't read the rules.  Should have never have happened.

IMBRA is a joke.  I mean its sad that Anastasia was killed, but the 'solution' is ineffective and the US attempting to hold foreign companies to US laws and penalties shows how stupid our politicians are.

It was Q.35 on my version of the I-129F (the version before the G-325A was no longer needed). The equivalent question is Q.55 now.

I answered No (per the screenshot).

Some people who filed around me got an RFE for meeting through OKC, eHarmony, and Match.com (wow...this makes me feel old to write now due to things like Tinder/Bumble/etc.). Some people did not. It may or may not have just been a new adjudicator.

That said, people still get RFEs for it now. Sending the documentation that they are not an IMB now to avoid that possibility is suggested.

It can be argued whether or not it is actually required by law, but the fact is USCIS is actually sending RFEs for it.

By your own admission it was from a long time ago when USCIS had a brain fart and was RFE-ing non-IMB sites.

Why?  Who knows.

You don't 'trigger' IMBRA disclosures unless you say you used an IMB.  As for it currently still happening, without seeing the petition no one can really say why, but again, IMBRA/IMB is not something you have to do.. unless you actually did use one.

When I did my I-129F, I didn't mention we found each other online.

I instead listed the date of our first in-person meeting.

My fiancee disclosed to the CO that we found each other online. She had the dating website's T&Cs with her for the interview, and the IO didn't care.

Visa issued.

We then disclosed to the IO during the AoS interview that we found each other online.

Green card issued.

And BTW, @geowrian's wisdom was very useful to me while lurking here during my prep of my I-129F. The grief he is getting here is disappointing. I will observe that he went through the process successfully with his now spouse. Those criticizing his advice might want to walk in his shoes first.

It was 2017...not sure if they is a long time ago or not here. Either way, I also noted that USCIS is still RFE'ing for it today.
