The email at the time was supportconsole@okcupid.com. It's possible they change it since then.

You revived a post from 2017.  For a while there were some RFE's for online dating for some weird reason.  I think there must have been some weird memo sent out that was WILDLY misunderstood by the adjudicators.

If you read the IMBRA definition of IMB its very easy to see that none of the major online sites are IMBs.

Correct. But the petitioner has the burden to show eligibility for the benefit being sought. USCIS does not need to show that you met through an IMB - the petitioner needs to demonstrate why the entity through which they met is not not an IMB.

I agree that IOs should generally know that OKCupid is not an IMB...and I made this assumption myself (and got an RFE as a result). But some are either more clueless or more strict than others and wanted the documentation.

Well some mod is gonna ban me (again) for this but 99% get the IMBRA law wrong:

2. Entities that provide dating services, but only if:
A. Their principal business does not provide international dating services between U.S. citizens or lawful permanent
residents and foreign nationals; and
B. They charge comparable rates and offer comparable services to all individuals served regardless of gender or
country of citizenship or nationality.

So 99.99999% of the dating sites, are by USCIS's own instructions, NOT IMBRA.  Read 2B

You don't have to prove to USCIS that NOT a IMB, you only have to tell them IF IT IS.

Post your I-129F so we can read what you filled out.  My guess is that you tripped up filled the form out wrong.

Makes sense that if you were banned for it once, you would be banned for doing it again.

Incorrect. You have the burden to demonstrate that any claim you make on the form is correct. Just saying they aren't an IMB is insufficient. They have no obligation to take your word for it.

"You did not establish that the website is not an international marriage broker" says it all. I had the burden to establish that they were not an IMB.

The RFE references that I noted that we met through OKCupid and that I indicated that I did not meet through an IMB on the I-129F.

Hello :) actually i was also confuse about the IMB question as what i understand about this if you only answer No i think you don't need to attach the terms of service but some of the filer they just wanted to make sure that there's no RFE  that's why they attach the proof that its not IMBimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.pngimage.thumb.png.61414e11d84d469e2d19713fd06c8cb2.png

You got an RFE because you failed to fill out question 55?

Check NO on Q 55.

Correct

No.  But you will do whatever someone says.

Unless you used an IMB (99.9999999999% of the time this is a NO) then fill out NO on Q 55.

Its not that hard.

The only reason you are getting an RFE is if you say you use an IMB or goofed up on Q 55.  USCIS knows that online dating sites (the big ones) are not IMBs.  Really, they do.

People should to post their I-129F (redacted) so we can see the mistakes, not the RFE that says they made one.

Check "No" on  question 55 and email the company. They reply within  a week.  I did  add their email reply where they say they are not an IMB and didn't got RFE.

Some asked for the email, so here it is: support@okcupid.com

"OkCupid is not an international marriage broker as defined by the International Marriage Brokers Act. In fact, OkCupid is a free dating website with a few premium feature offerings. You should be able to show this email as the proof that you need. Please let us know if you need anything else."

Incorrect. Just checking No does not necessarily satisfy the requirement.

I posted the RFE. I posted the relevant I-129F section. Read them. It's quite clear. Are you unable to see the I-129F section?

I am not posting my entire I-129F...there is no point in doing so. If there is something specific you want to see, let me know. But I have absolutely no clue whatsoever what other part of the I-129F could possibly be in any way relevant to the RFE reason provided.

USCIS said I checked No on the I-129F regarding if we met via an IMB. USCIS acknowledged that we met through OKCupid. USCIS said I failed to establish that OKCupid is not an IMB. I'm not sure how it could be any more clear.
