They are currently working June 2006 filers. So at the end of the year your priority date might be current. It could take longer as there was no movement between February and March this year.

Actually we've already got letter from NVC and we paid fees and submitted docs to nvc..... doesn't that mean our PD is current?

No, it does not. You still have to wait for your PD to be current for a visa to be available. Sending stuff to the NVC just saves time - you do this in advance so that your file is all good to go when the PD does become current. Since the PD did not move from February to March this year one must assume that the category is massively oversubscribed. You could be waiting at the NVC for a year.

Retrogression. It happens from time to time.

Hmm. So we should be expecting interview only after our PD is current? That means we shouldn't be expecting interviews within six months or even more?? Actually, I read it somewhere that after submitting all the docs, NVC schedules interviews within 60-90 days... Thats why I was unsure...

They do if the priority date is current. I think you are confusing your case with, for example, a CR-1 case where the priority date is always current and they get their interviews very soon after being DQ.

Hmmm but i am still confused..... if visa bulletin of January says 1FEB 2007 and says

Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date listed below.” Our PD is earlier than feb 2007..... doesn’t that mean our PD became current on January?

But it’s not January now. It’s February. F4 priority date is showing July 1, 2006. There has been a retrogression and your PD has been pushed back.

And based on Charlie Oppenheim (The state dep guy who sets the dates). F4 is not going to move forward for a while

Quote

As previewed in last month's Check-in and the January 2020 visa bulletin, in February the F4 "Rest of World"Final Action Dates will retrogress due to a dramatic increase in demand for this category, with F4 "Rest of World"retrogressing 7 months to July 1, 2006. AILA Members should expect this date to be held for the next several months.

And this goes to show why this category is often rumored to be abolished. Take me as an example. I am currently applying for citizenship. I have 4 siblings. Each is married and between the 4 of them they have 9 minor children (and may have more in the future). So, when my citizenship is finally approved (come on, USCIS Seattle!) that could be another 17 people in line for green cards. 19 if I were to petition my parents also. That’s not a sustainable immigration model.

Probably the worse case is our family , 21 siblings ( yes that is siblings )  get them all married off and average 4 kids a piece and you get over 100 people just in round 1, then the spouses start round 2 , and the children when they are adult can start round 3 ,  we could have the entire village here.  The issue is so bad the petitions have to go to the most skilled siblings first and then the other so the doctors and engineers can help with the affidavit of supports .

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
