My birth certificate was registered 10 years later from the year I was born. and I got a letter of request for initial evidence from USCIS. I provided two affidavits from parents and a letter of graduation from high school that only listed my father's name and both ID from parents. Do I also need a certificate from the civil registration  that certifies my birth certificate is registered?

We provided affidavits from parent and close relative (other parent was deceased, and fortunately did not have to provide death certificate) in the package and didn’t get an RFE. This was a surprising difference in the standard the embassy used to issue the K-1 versus the standard the USCIS uses.

Hello so will the embassy normally accept a late or delayed birth certificate for the k1 interview?

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SierraLeone.html Doesn’t say either way for your country but the implication is it will as it doesn’t list any options for alternative documents.

Consider being prepared and having affidavits from the parents.
