Hi. I just found out that I am HBsAg reactive. I have been taking liverAid and other liver vitamins and supplements but I really have not been to any doctor for official diagnoses and stuff.
Before I met my fiancé, I asked him to have himself vaccinated and stuff and he did. But I haven't been really open to him about it. So nw, my questions are:

1. Will I be denied for k1 visa?
2. If I don't have records to show that I am getting medication, will they still deny me? I have read that some were allowed after presenting records and all.
3. will he be informed or something? Cause I have been planning to tell him in person, the next time we meet. But I don't want him to find out thru this or get notified that "hey your girl is sick!"

My medical and interview is scheduled in 2 weeks.

I really need your help and opinion in this matter guys!

IMO this isn’t an immigration question. This is a moral conversation you should be having with your fiancé. Think... do you really want to start your new life/marriage with lies? How would you feel if he kept something from you that could ultimately affect you?

Those that have Hepatitis B are not barred from immigrating. If you haven’t been to a doctor for an official diagnosis how do you know you have it? Additionally you will need to show proof you are being treated.

I always show HBsAg as reactive because I got vaccinated against Hep B. Are you sure it is not the antibodies from the vaccination that are causing the results?

Hep B is a serious disease and I think you would be seriously debilitated if you actually had it. I think you need to get a second opinion and do some research online about vaccines causing your blood to shoe anti bodies.

Thank you for the response. I know that is why I got worried. I don't have any symptoms of a hepa B carrier at all. I had my blood tested a year ago and everything were normal except for my SGPT/ALT that is why I had myself checked for hepa B, and unfortunately, it showed that I am reactive. It didn't worried me too much cause again, I don't have any symptoms but I am aware that it can be transmitted that is why I made sure that my fiance had himself vaccinated before we even met. It didn't came up until now, that I need to take medical for the visa that I realized "oh, I am a carrier, what should I do?!". I searched from one website to another, and more forums. Most of them shows that it was ok and they made it, however, most of them brought along medical records during the medical, and I don't have any. And that, confuses me.

Are you a medical doctor?  If not, you should see one.

Hbsag is different than Hbsab. Hbsab is the antibody and, when positive, means you have either been vaccinated or cured from hep B. Hbsag, on the other hand, is the antigen and if your result was positive than you should seek medical help even if you show no symptoms.

Antigen vs. antibody.  Hep B surface Ag (antigen) shoes in the blood of someone who is infected.  Hep B surface Ab (antibody) shows up in someone who has been exposed, usually via the vaccine series.

Thank you everyone for the comments.

Apologies for posting it twice, I wasn't sure that my tags were right that's why and I didn't know how to merge as well.

Anyway, thank you very much for all the comments.

I am trying to talk to my F about my illness, I am just trying to find a good timing. I just hope that he won't be informed before I get to talk to him.

Again, thank you everyone! :)

My medical and interview is scheduled in 2 weeks.

I really need your help and opinion in this matter guys!

Hello, can you share what did you do or your experience when you got medical in st. Luke's having HEPA b? I have same case but the problem is I address that I positive in blood screening before the day of st. Luke's medical for k1 visa. I already handed laboratory request from the doctor who test/request for screening. And I negative for HEPA b.

After that day in the 3rd day I went to st. Luke's for my medical appointment, I address that I positive for HEPA b. And they hold my medical they need me to submit medical certificate. Sadly I cannot request bcuz I am not medicating I am actually starting my HEPA b tests. Now I'm still in HEPA b process not yet prescription from the doctor still in process more requested blood test. And now doctor refered me to gastroenterologist. But still cannot take medical certificate.

And my medical in st. Luke's still pending for immunization.

Now, I want to know what have you did to your medical with HEPA b? Have you approved?

I wish you able to share with me your journey.

Thank you!
