Why are they giving my spouse interview?

They told me I would need a joint sponsor. I already used two co-sponsors in my family but they are both on SSI. I didn’t earn enough income. My husband and I got an email the other day about the Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified. I can’t find a joint sponsor my other family members don’t want to be one and I don’t have many friends that anymore ant to be on either. My husband lives in Pakistan and I’m here is the America. What will happen at his interview is there a chance he could be approved? Why are they going to give him an interview if they told me on the NVC CEAC that I don’t earn enough and that I need a joint sponsor?

They will still interview him, even if it is to give him a denial based on the public charge rule.

He will get an interview because you applied and he is required to have one, if you can not meet the sponsorship requirements he will be denied.

Okay thank you. I have to find a joint sponsor which will be hard because no one I know wants  to be one. If I find a job before his interview and send him my new work information for his visa would that help or being I did use 2 family members as co-sponsors would that help his visa case?

A job would be better than household members.  But none of us can tell you what you need to pass.  Regardless Pakistani males tend to have a long time in AP even when everything is right.

A job would seem much more obvious especially as opposed to trying to use SSI.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can someone using SSI even be a joint sponsor? They are already using government money so how could the beneficiary not be a public charge?

So he will most likely get denied then?

Not everyone can afford to immigrate to the US.  You could spend a year or two working hard to improve your overall financial status, and then reapply.  Or maybe move to Pakistan?

I added them as co-sponsor not joint sponsor. I don’t know why Nvc even accepted there applications, but on ceac messages they send me said I don’t meet the minimum Income requirements and the the consular officer will make a decision regarding the requirements at time of interview.

Using sponsors that have income from SSI can lead to a denial. Your best bet is to find a better job.

Q. What publicly funded benefits may be considered for public charge purposes?

A. Cash assistance for income maintenance and institutionalization for long-term care at government expense may be considered for public charge purposes. However, receipt of such benefits must still be considered in the context of the totality of the circumstances before a person will be deemed inadmissible on public charge grounds.

Public benefits that are received by one member of a family are also not attributed to other family members for public charge purposes unless the cash benefits amount to the sole support of the family.

Acceptance of the following types of assistance may lead to the determination that the individual is likely to become a public charge:

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) under Title XVI of Social Security Act

So if there SSI is to take care of just my mom and brother then is there a chance he could be approved? My mom gets her SSI that takes care of her and my brother gets SSI that takes care of just him.
