He Won!!

Opera-singing phone salesman Paul Potts has won the final of TV variety show Britain's Got Talent.

He beat singer Connie Talbot, six, who had impressed the judges, who included Simon Cowell.

Potts beat five other acts, including street dancers The Kombat Breakers, hoping to win a spot at the Royal Variety Performance.

The winner of the ITV1 programme, presented by Ant and Dec, also received a cheque for £100,000.

"The whole country has gone Paul Potts potty," said host Ant McPartlin, after two million people cast their vote.

The 36-year-old from Port Talbot, south Wales, is a fan of opera legend Luciano Pavarotti and impressed judges with his version of Nessun Dorma.

Cool to know already....Craig has been downloading them for us, so I've only watched the first 3 audition ones...fun to watch tho! I admit I was kind of pulling for Conny, but I lovedddd Paul too, so good for HIM! M.

OMG. I had never heard of Paul Potts until I saw him on Ellen today. After seeing him on there I also watched his audition on youtube.

Incredible. It gave me goosebumps and made me cry.
