also, when my fiance takes the documents to the embassy, can everything be stapled? unlike the I-129f it was not allowed to be stapled

so can the I-134, bank statements, pictures, tax forms, ect all be stapled?

They prefer that you not staple

Generally speaking a scan of the i134 is ok. the answer is always consulate specific

thank you for your quick responses!

my last question is:

when my fiance has her medical done before the interview, should I tell her to get TWO certified medical copies (1 for the interview and 1 for when she comes to the US during AOS)

They won't issue two.  The medical for the consulate becomes the medical for AOS.   Be sure to have her complete the vaccinations abroad.   It makes AOS simpler

YMMV

I use paper clip it was easier, don’t staple you can use paper clip because they go through the paperwork before you see the officer

I totally second this!

DO NOT.

I guess it depends on the consulate, but I organised everything wonderfully into a folder and before being allowed into the consulate building I had to remove everything that wasn't paper - so I ended up entering with a pile of paper 🙄

Dry signature is fine.

Well, no:

* For K applicants: The petitioner may complete an original signed Form I-134, Affidavit of Support for the principal applicant and one copy for each eligible travelling applicant. A photocopy of the petitioner’s IRS tax transcripts and any relevant W-2s must be included.

This is for Vietnam.  Check your consulate as to what they want.

You can refuse vaccinations with no penalty.  They are NOT required for a K1.

Almost every one of the vaccinations are FREE in the US.  Either by insurance or public health clinics.  A small ($30) fee for a Civil Surgeon to transcribe on the medical form is all you would need to pay.

“May” is not “must”

I go by this rule of thumb:

* If someone is asking if a wet signature from a petitioner is needed for an consular form it is because that country’s postal system is terrible.

* The consular office is also likely aware that the local postal system is terrible. In such offices you will find that they don’t do this packet 1. 2,  3,  4 nonsense.  It is all done over email and/or drop boxes.

So if OP is asking then it is likely that it is because mailing stuff between the USA and country of OP’s beneficiary is hit or miss and mostly miss.

By all means try to mail an I-134 with a wet signature if it worries you but don’t expect it to arrive.

My wife’s country barely has street numbers.  She had no idea what the street number on her residence was. Nor its postal code.  And the embassy did everything over email.

Btw refusing vaccinations is just a bad idea.

What does your response have to do with SIMPLER?

What you are suggesting adds unnecessary steps.

YMMV

Postal systems are pretty robust.  My fiancee in Vietnam get packages quite regularly as the local delivery services simply ask locals where they live.  I'm sure its not as easy as USPS, but it still works.  Are there some countries that don't have a robust mail system (or are simply corrupt and make you buy your mail lol), sure.. the world is a big place.

In a perfect world, you would visit/attend the interview (at least give your fiance your passport to show that you are there) and hand off the wet signature as required.

If not, take that gamble.   And people wonder why visa's are denied.

It's UNNECESSARY to get vaccinated for a K1 visa.  Its required for AOS, NOT the K1.  So not doing it makes the K1 SIMPLER.
