So I just want to know what processes do I need to be in after arrival in the US as a family based visa holder?

Do I need to apply for GC, employment authorization, are there restrictions? Please comment down below about what I should expect. Thank you

"Family-based"?  This is pretty broad.

Your profile says K-1.  If you will be adjusting from a K-1, follow the guides here on VJ.

Sorry it's the F1 visa it's actually for my mom.

That’s an immigrant visa. She becomes a permanent resident (which includes work authorization) as soon as her immigrant visa is stamped for entry. She needs to pay $220 for the plastic green card, but her stamped visa works as a temporary green card till that arrives.

(Curious, so what’s the K1 deal, weren’t you originally trying for derivative on her visa?)
