EAD and AP stuck after expedite

Hi all,

In February 3 I requested to expedite my EAD and my AP based on severe financial loss to me and to a company. I got an email requesting more evidence the following day. I sent the evidence the same day (Feb 4) and on February 6 the EAD status changed to "Expedite Request Approved".

It has stayed like that since then, and I called USCIS and all they can tell me is exactly the same that I see on the website. Even T2 can't tell me anything else about the status of the case.

Do you have any idea if this is normal? Should I have had an answer by now? The company that wants to hire me is starting to lose patience, and I don't want to lose the job offer.

Thank you so much!

Expedite in immigration terms does not mean immediate.  Instead of 5-7 months, it will take up to 60 days.  It has only been like two weeks, right?

I agree with @Jorgedig. Nothing with immigration is immediate. This is one of the biggest downfalls of the K1; the limbo of not being able to do anything. The request was already approved so there is not much else you can do.

Hopefully the company can be a little more patient.

How can they respond when they are clustered with redundant requests/help that they will have their own processing time like the USCIS.

2 weeks wait for the expedited case does not warrant a representative’s help.

As said, expedite may allow you get the card in 1-2 months as opposed to 5-8 months.
