They are getting an award for having 2 children, my Parents never got an award

All of my parents' awards predated us. They need to try harder, it's not too late!

Sounds like a good topic for Family Zoom?

Tension rising here before the game tomorrow.

This... is not a happy home.

We went to dinner at a lovely steakhouse in the Valley, gorgeous evening, warm and a bit breezy, the sun starting to dip a bit in the sky. Couple glasses of red, prime rib for my wonderful, long-suffering husband with all the accoutrements. And then he made me pay! He said (cryptically) it's blood money.

Will not post one of the many England GIFs I found on VJ now there is another Scot here and actually posting, bad form.

He has come up with a solution to the War at Home. He is going over to visit a friend who doesn't understand what any of this is all about, and they will watch Black Widow. Without me. Even though he promised we would watch Black Widow together. Actions apparently have consequences, and I could choose not to watch the final tomorrow, but I have made my selection and must live with the consequences.

It is not too late to yank the I-864. We haven't even done biometrics yet.

England and equality: Why Gareth Southgate's men deserve support from this passionate Scotland fan... but won't get it

Gareth Southgate is a courageous leader. He doesn't have the appearance or personality to fit the typical profile, but he undoubtedly is.

Perhaps to help you feel better, LL ma'am:

===================================

TECHNOLOGY RACE

After having dug to a depth of 1,000 meters, Scottish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1,000 years.  They concluded that their ancestors already had a telephone network 1,000 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Scots, English scientists dug to a depth of 2,000 meters, and shortly afterward, headlines in the U.K. newspapers read, "English archaeologists have found traces of 2,000-year-old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-technology communications network a thousand years earlier than did the Scots."

One week later, Texas newspapers reported the following:  "After digging as deep as 5,000 meters in West Texas, scientists have found absolutely nothing.  They therefore conclude that, 5,000 years ago, Texas inhabitants were already using wireless technology."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

For Boiler: Another Daily Mail update, about another royal who is no longer an HRH. Despite the headline, this is NOT about me!

Quote

'The roaring of the waterfall became a roaring in her ears as their lips met:' Read Sarah Ferguson's new Mills & Boon tale of passionate romance between a flame-haired heroine and her Scottish lover

Sarah Ferguson's steamy debut Mills & Boon novel focuses on the forbidden, passionate romance of a flame-haired heroine who is eager to wed her Scottish lover Donald Cameron - despite her father's disapproval.

The book - Her Heart for a Compass - is a fictional account of the life of the Duchess of York's great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.

Set in the heart of the Victorian era, it sees 18-year-old Lady Margaret evoke the ire of her parents - the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch, close friends of Queen Victoria - by rejecting the suitor they chose for her, Lord Rufus Ponsonby, the Earl of Killin, resulting in her being banished from polite society.

I... think I would also reject a suitor named Rufus Ponsonby.

Does it include toe sucking?

Okay, full disclosure. I dated a guy a few times in the brief period between the two times I was engaged to Voldy. Very good on paper, software developer, good education, had a very nice apartment, etc. Anyway, on time three he asked me to come back to his place and I said fine, he hadn't been very pushy so far and I felt safe with him. We get to his place, open a bottle, put on some music, long chat, shoes off and feet tucked up underneath me on the sofa, holding hands, and so on. I was feeling very much like: okay, maybe this is the guy I'm going to date for the foreseeable future. No red flags.

Then he asked if he could suck my toes because they looked so "plump."

No red flags means red flags! I have learned this. I am proud to say I did not go back for another date!
