A very sad article written by the ''political editor" that apparently ties his feelings of "faux patriotism" to not watching a TV interview or being interested in a subject, or at the very least, being obnoxious to his friends. He says he doesn't care about it of course, but naturally he writes a big article opinion piece about it. Says more about the author than anything else.

And this is why I don't take anything from the federalist seriously anymore..

How can you take anything from the media seriously now days?

Two well known people are showing that there is a different way of being part of a 1,000 year old institution.

An institution that invaded 90% of the countries on planet earth.. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm still holding a grudge from the Revolutionary war :D

Welcome to the world, Lilibet Diana! https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ellievhall/meghan-markle-birth-baby-girl-lilibet

Quote

Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby girl named Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, her second child with husband Prince Harry, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed.

"It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world," a spokesperson said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. "The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family."

The baby was born Friday at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Mother and child are "healthy and well and settling in at home," the spokesperson said.

"Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."

Just want to say how much we appreciate your sacrifice. I do read that she is looking to go back next time and doubt that will be received well.

I am dithering about watching the first and second installments or if I should start here with this third one. I was forced to watch both A Christmas Prince and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding when I was staying with a friend a couple of years ago and I have lingering PTSD. (I drew the line at the third installment, which was about a royal Christmas baby.)

More interested in the possibility of there being (1) bank holiday on Monday (TBD); (2) Sir Gareth Southgate (will drive Becks mad as he is not yet a sir); and (3) this bit of crazy:

And there was this sent to me earlier:

One of the worst films I think I have seen, would not have been that hard to give it a sense of historical accuracy.

Too late:

Boris Johnson has made a late entry for Britain's most patriotic road ahead of the Euro 2020 final as he decked out Downing Street in a sea of St George's flags

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

That little flag BoJo is holding seems very sad. If this were America, it would be fifty feet wide and he'd be wrapping himself in it.

On the other hand, it does have a very English feel to it, a bit village fete and like someone did try and almost got there but thought to themselves, hmmmm, this'll be fine and run under budget, enough left over for a few pints.

That's why we need more openly fictionalized depictions of real life events, like these Harry and Meghan films. At least they're honest about it!
