Okay, it is NOT correct that the wearing of face masks is mandatory here in California. It is mandatory in LA County if you go into an essential business. You are NOT required to wear one when walking the dog, but it is common courtesy to other people. When I go outside of my apartment, I wear a mask. If I had COVID19 but was asymptomatic, I would feel terrible knowing I'd gotten someone else sick. Some cities have stricter rules -- in BH and Glendale you have to wear one whenever you're outside, but that's not the case in LA, where these pics were supposedly taken, or in Santa Monica where I live.

 

Not that I ever think that the DM is going to be the be-all and end-all of truth but it is straight up wrong to (1) imply it's mandatory everywhere, all the timeand (2) state that it's for all of California.
