Hello All,

Has anyone used an interpreter for the interview? How does that work? I was not expecting this and now we have to find someone that can help us. We have to go to the USCIS office in San Antonio, TX and a lot of people speak Spanish here but probably the officer that will interview us won't speak Spanish so...

Let me know about your experience.

Thanks

Right, USCIS doesn't pay for or provide them.  That's on your dime.  I am sure you could locate professional Spanish language interpreters available in your area by doing a simple Google search.

Yes, bring an interpreter, makes things much easier, they have a crappy phone interpreter they try to use, but they will mess it up . Look on your state DMV site for a list of authorized interpreters, or your next bet is the local court houses will have a list of authorized translators. They should be able to help you with a list. Use one of the translators from the state or federal court houses and they will probably be USCIS certified also. Had to reschedule my first AOS interview, next one 3 months later, smooth as silk with translator and instant approval.
