In 2015, the process was waaaay faster. Processing times have for sure doubled in the last 3 years.

Not really.  I had a I-129F approved in less than 5 months.

On par with the last 2-4 years.

There was a point when it would be close to a year.. but that was a long time ago.  Most K1 are at the consulate in 6 months.  I-130s have been pretty fast, you are already married.

I was only taking about I-130. I-129F’s are quick.
Currently I-130 wait for a spouse of a USC is about 12 months at Nebraska SC - not really fast if you ask me! Sure, the other centers take way less time, but the average seems to be 11 months now vs. 6 months a few years back. That‘s a 43% increase of the processing time in 2015.

True, you‘re right. I was only looking back go SmallTownPA‘s submission year.
Should have done my research better 🙂

No worries! I was just pointing out that it used to be much worse. The current timelines are within the "normal" ebb and flow of the process. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's long, but they generally fall into a range.

Thankfully, you can't always count on the predicted processing times that USCIS gives... I was at Nebraska and was groaning when I saw the I-130 might take 12-16 months to process. Then they moved it to Vermont all of a sudden and two weeks later I was approved, only 8 months later.

So glad to hear this development. Hopefully us July 2019 Nebraska folk will also now benefit with a quicker review :) One can but hope!

That seems very possible, as my priority date was June 19, 2019.

What determines whether something is IOE or LIN? I am not familiar with that aspect of this process

LIN - manual filing. IOE - everything online or uploaded online so any center can work on it. They started issuing IOE June/July 2019.

Well I must have been one of the last LIN then, I filed manually with a priority date of June 19, 2019.

Maybe this is them clearing up all the paper/non-IOE forms, once they get most of those cleared up maybe they will have ONE estimate processing time for ALL IOEs regardless of service center...

Really the stupid part is having spousal and other immediate family using the same timeline because they use the same form.  Parents, siblings, etc should have a different form number than spouses

Spousal petitiond require relationship evidence.  Even minor children don't. Obviously one will take longer to adjudicate.

My first NOA was a priority date of June 19, 2019

So not fair to transfer June cases when April and May cases are still stuck in Nebraska.

This is not a zero-sum game. This frees up resources to work on those cases.
