Does NVC expedite to schedule an interview? I have submitted an request to expedite my case which is at stage of getting interview letter. I do have a valid reason to expedite it, but wondering whether they will say wait for next month interview batch. Based on this forum, my consular office has already sent interview for Mar in the first week of February.

I'm in CR1 category, DQ in Jan 2020

If an expedite is approved you will schedule your own interview meaning you will have to check the scheduling website to find and schedule your own appointment whenever one is available. Unsure if NVC/embassies accept expedite requests after DQ

Our CR1 Journey:

  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)

  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date

Thanks, but where does it says this I will be given option to choose my own date?

If true, does that mean all Mar interview slots are filled. My only option would be April. And if slots open up by next week, there is no medical would be done by that appointment as it seem like a gamble

I expect, NVC to sent me IL sooner than later if approved. Just my guess

some ppl could be waiting after DQ, & get emergency for interview (like me)

It is how it has always worked for expedite at NVC, you schedule it yourself. Other users I’ve talked to schedule their own interviews after NVC expedite. They won’t send you a sooner interview date. Yes even if you get an expedite you still won’t be able to get a March interview if all the slots are full, they won’t cancel someone’s interview to make room for yours, it’s still first come first serve. But, if someone were to cancel their interview themselves, you could schedule it yourself if you’re expedited. That’s why with an expedite it’s important to continually check the scheduling site to check if any earlier slots open back up before you schedule a later interview

Thats good info to know.

4 ppl who got IL was just for first week of Mar. I predict they host interviews daily. For various visas type, visit visit, tourist visa etc.  I didn't see anyone to have their interview schedule in the last two weeks of Mar. Its either the all other ppl who probably got their interview are not on this forum. I'm not going to generalize that only 4 ppl from my consular office were waiting for IL & they happened to be on this forum. Its just tough luck I am. Not to confidence in myself that I know for sure, I would get IL in Mar for April. Its two month delay due to error by NVC!!!!! If I get interview after Apr 15, its just another story.....

how do I check schedule site for interviews? is it the ustravel website

As far as I know, I think you only have access to the online scheduling if you are expedited

@LilyJ the reason for my expedite (u probably already know) NVC made an error by putting me in C21 (For green holders). I m US citizen. So that’s why I missed the Feb batch. Last week they fixed their error in my CEAC account. I haven’t heard back about my expedite request. My guess is in Mar, I will get IL for April. As you can see it’s 2 month delay due to error by NVC. I’m sure not all slots are filled for Mar. there has to be some slots for emergency situations like mine or others qualify reasons
