I got an email from NVC stating that they are going to transfer my case to the embassy where the interview will take place, the email also has a case number. I used the case number to log in to CEAC website, when I logged in, the status says ‘in transit’ How long will it take to reach the embassy and how long before they contact me?

Thanks!

Can't speculate as you don't have a timeline or even a country  in your profile.  Usually a few days if sent directly.

I will be going to the embassy in Jamaica for the interview. My case was approved by USCIS on January 10 then sent to NVC

You won't get additional information from NVC.   Check the consulate website to see if local instructions are posted online

YMMV
