Hello,

I'm new here, just registered, but have been reading a lot for the last few days.

I've tried searching something similar here and search didn't return any useful results, but I apologize if I just cloned another post.

I got my GC in May, 2015 thru employment and I left that company in August, 2016 (after 1 year and 3 months) upon mutual agreement with the owner of that place who let me leave in a good way. Wondering what IO may ask about that and what I should answer. I bet there are people here who went same path - I'd appreciate any input. I have no other issues I can think of (no tax issues, no criminal records, legal status since I first arrived to the US).

I filled out N-400 on my own and ready to submit, but would like to get as prepared as possible with the help of the VisaJorney members.

Thanks!

People have left the company that sponsored them for a work-based GC within weeks of getting their GC. The general consensus is that a year is a reasonable period of time - though of course leaving before that would also be OK if the circumstances warrant you leaving (salary cuts, significant change in your role and responsibilities, etc etc etc)

Short version: you're fine.

Don’t worry. I had also changed the employer sometime after getting EB GC. I was asked zero questions about employment. There is no requirement that one has to keep working for the same employer.
