Yes my data is based on total energy consumption from 10 years ago when China was not the  powerhouse it is today.

The fact remains: the US consumes a lot of energy and if you consume a lot N, and you strive to become more efficient x%, then N-x%= a lot of energy efficiency.

Just LED lighting alone has been a great savings. My issue is all we hear from the POTUS is about LED bulbs making him look bad, or mischarectizing the nature of renewable energy.  No matter, people are moving to renewables inspire of his leadership in the opposite direction.

The man propogates more bad science than any adult I have ever heard.

I just pulled different sources for you so why are you bringing up data from 10 years ago? One of the sources I gave you is 2014 and the other is 2017.

Look , in general terms a drop in tonnage co2 output for China or the US makes somewhat good news , because they are the largest polluters. But this is not Elementary school soccer where everyone gets a ribbon for showing up.  To make progress, leadership is needed and absent.

My mistake muddying the waters with the 45% thing, that was just to say to them that made the big mess, much should be expected to clean it up.

I wouldn't have a number, but more.

The real.need though is to have  policies that put the US on the right trajectory, not suing carmakers for supporting lower fuel standards is a no brainier starter.

Edit it looks like DOJ dropped their suit in the 6th.

CART standards have been in place for years. The very reason Toyota will never make a diesel in the US

Yes, we need to join more feel good environmental pacts that have no means of enforcement and don’t even require countries to really commit to anything.

All-in-all, the US is on a very good trajectory, maintaining a blazing economy, and still increasing efficiency to reduce carbon output.
