My attorney also did not contact me about the ban. I contacted him and he didn't even take time out to read the details of the ban and replied back with generic answer that left me even more confused on what to do. Now I would say he is a lazy pathetic lawyer but I would never call him racist. That is a harsh allegation to call someone without proof!

At least your attorney still take time to reply you when you brought it to his attention but mine didn't reply and when he eventually replied he said "if you have problem with the ban take it up with Trump" this is so deep

Article 12.. right to return to own country.. un convention international covenant on civil and political rights.. looks like the majority of countries signed it..with ref to African countries excludes South Sudan and West Seirria

I'm not sure what you think this proves; an agreement is only worth the paper it's written on if it's adequately enforced. For example, Eritrea ratified that agreement 18 years ago but refuses to accept deported citizens.

Between the USCIS stage and NVC receiving our file, my attorney did not contact us or return my calls and emails for 5 weeks. I actually ended up taking his name off the Affidavit of Support and uploading all the documents myself. I even searched obituaries for his area thinking he had passed away. When he finally contacted me back, I told him that I thought he had died and all he replied was that he was busy with other clients; no apology or nothing. Didn't seem to care that his name was taken off either. Never checked to see if we were ready for interview last week or if we were approved. All this neglect from an attorney that has many great reviews on several website but I would never jump to the conclusion that he could be racist without any evidence. Anyway, I pray that the ban is lifted soon! Best wishes!

My wife also felt the same thing you felt.. She wanted to write him to stop being our attorney but I had to stop her because we are at the nvc stage and he has being paid in full so let him just finisj what he started... I believe good communication should be number one priority of an immigration attorney.. The fact that he never say anything to us about the ban speaks volume, even though is all over the news is still his job to address us about it nevertheless we brought it to his attention and he never deem fit to say anything still not until I took it upon myself before he split this 'if you have problem with the ban take it up with Trump'

Please vote.  😊

The ban is because of security reason, information sharing between the two country is not up to par allegedly... Buy what baffles everyone is the fact that non_immigrant is not ban

Non-immigrant visas are not affected....however, I wouldn't be surprised to see an increase in entry denials due to lack of ties to home country.

Yes you are right.. And we know there is nothing he can do about it but I don't think he should keep mute without saying nothing even when my wife made mention of the ban to him. As our immigration attorney we expect him to say something to us about the ban but his reply to says a lot about him

the only thing he could do is file a waiver or appeal (after the interview) and this would cost you an additional attorney fee

you have to understand that Nigeria is one of the high fraud countries and you are not guaranteed a visa (even without the ban) so it will be up to you at the interview to put forth the best evidence of a real relationship to even be approved and put into AP to  wait/  this means the USC needs quality face time with you in Nigeria

the attorney would not have known about the ban when your wife applied and can do nothing about it now/ he, like everyone has to wait for ban to be lifted

if i were in one of these countries ,  I would attend the interview without doing the medical as the medical would need to be redone when the ban is lifted but that is just my opinion.

if being together is important, perhaps she can come live in Nigeria  / just remember she needs to keep filing US tax returns and include you as spouse on them

Non-immigrant refusal is high in my country is high in my country even before the ban not to talk of when there is a ban now.. Non immigrant visa is given out to politician, business man and their children in my country

I totally aree with this - it sounds like your lawyer may be rude, poor at his job, bad at communicating - but based off what you've said @Fidel, there's nothing to indicate he's been that way because of your race...and it's unfair to accuse someone of a bias without any supporting evidence. He might be a bad lawyer, but that doesn't neccesarily mean he's a bad person (which I would certainly consider a racist to be).
