I received an RFE from USCIS stating that the decree absolutes that I had submitted with the I-130 appear to be summaries of the divorce and not the decree absolute itself. This is for both the beneficiary and petitioner, (both previously married) I know that what I had sent is the divorce decree absolute though. Had anyone else experienced this for a British divorce and if so how did you respond?

Yes, it has happened now and again over the last dozen years I’ve followed VJ. Here’s a couple of threads with what I have known to work for many.

Thanks Wuozopo,

I highlighted the central pertinent area of both our divorce certificates and the all important D37 mark on the bottom right. Both certs have the red/purple stamp. I also included a notice from the HM Courts and Tribunal Service that actually states that 'D37' is the Divorce Decree. In essences, i'm just sending back what I originally submitted, now with covering letter...

That has worked for all but one person that I know of over the years.
