Typo on visa

Hello,

My fiance and her son received their K1 visas, but the visa for her son shows F instead of M.

She's been trying to call the embassy unsuccessfully. There seems to be multiple numbers to call. Does anyone know the best number to try?

Is she able to just go to the embassy to get it straightened out? We cant find anything online about appointments for this.

Thanks!

Yes she should be able to go to the embassy with the complete visa package and should allow you to drop it off .. others have done just that.

All the numbers are just a call center, no way to reach "the embassy staff"

Hi Hank, how long does it usually take for USEM correct typos and such? And will it be picked up from 2GO again?

Usually just a few days, and yes it is returned by 2GO

Thank you Hank,

We were getting frustrated trying to talk to someone.

She went to the embassy instead of trying to call. Since she isn't traveling until April they told her she has to mail her sons passport via togo. They told her if she was flying within two weeks and could show them a ticket they would process it same day. But they told her a week to correct and mail back.

She said togo has an application to fill out when returning something to the embassy to list why you're sending something back.

I am a little concerned because the individual she talked to told her to just send the passport, and not the entire visa packet, so that's what she did. Guess I've got some time if they need the packet as well

Do as instructed.  Only the passport.     I was only relaying from other's experience, but they were also traveling much sooner than your fiancee.

Thanks for the update.
