Hi guys, ive seen the whole A number dilema on this board, whether its the red number at the bottom of the k-1 visa or the control number at the top, but I am looking at my wifes I-94 and there is a number written across the top in pen that starts with an A. wouldnt this be the A number? and why is it written in pen and not stamped or something? thanks.

YES the number written on the back or the I-94 by POE officer is A#, also can find it on I-129F NOA2 above name.

They cannot use a stamp because they would have to keep changing the stamp for each alien entering the country, quicker to just write it.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Paul,

You seem to be confusing the A# with the visa # - it's the visa number for which people debate whether to use the Control Number or the red number on the visa.
