K9 Visa process please help!

Hello, my fiance was born,raised, and lived in El Salvador until 5 months ago. She moved to spain to obtain residency and citizenship in Madrid spain. We had talked on whatsapp for over a year and in January i came to spain to meet her. We fell in love and decided we want to do the k9 fiancee visa. She is in the process here in spain still for her citizenship here.

 

 Can my fiancee stay here in spain and start the k9 visa with me? Or does she have to go back to El Salvador and do the process there? 

 

I currently live and reside in Ohio in the Usa and that is where my fiancee and i will live.

That would be the K-1.  K-9s are police dogs.

 

If she is a legal resident of Spain, she can interview there for the K-1 visa.

If they ever get as far as a K 8 visa class I have a feeling the next one will be a K 10.

 

Presumably she will want to stay in Spain and interview in Madrid.

She is not a legal resident there yet.  She just got her first document from spain stating she is allowed to stay there for 6 months. She has no legal residency or any kind or documentation that allows her to live there as a citizen of spain. Shes still in the lengthy process in spain to do that. So that's why we are trying to figure out if she can stay there in her process status in spain until we recieve a interview date?

 

We just dont want her to have to move all of her things back  to el Salvador just to move again to the United states.

No she will most likely not obtain full residency in spain before our fiancee visa interview and decision is made. We are very hopeful for a very good outcome so thats why we are concerned if she can stay in madrid or not

Check with the Consulate to see if she is OK to interview in Madrid.

In general, one must have documented legal residence (with a physical document to show) in another country to be able to interview at the US embassy there.

 

But like Boiler said, you could inquire with the Madrid embassy to see what they say.
