221g ANKARA TURKEY

Hey guys,

My fiance had her visa interview February 4, where she said the interview went good except we were missing a few documents. They gave her a 221g which asked for a police certificate, and tax transcripts. We got her police certificate, and because i am a student I had to use my father as a joint sponser. My father recently bought an apartment complex and his tax transcripts for the past year are showing pretty low, so I also sent in a transcript of my sister who had made $30k (with an afidavid) and I also sent in my cousins transcript who made over $100k over the past 3 years. How long do you guys think this 221g processing will take because I really want to have my wedding over spring break! Also do you guys think that the tax transcripts will be of any issue?

On the 221g it says to send in the documents to PTT with her passport and they should send the visa within 1-2 weeks, but i am still very nervous..

It's going to take more then just sending in whomever's TT to satisfy the embassy's request. You should have prepared a formal package with all financials and submitted it one time to answer the RFE. These are the maximum requirements for such a package.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

Good luck.

It only asks for a transcript on the 221g, and do you know how long this process usually takes? I send it in about 4 days ago.

They are asking for a TT from the petitioner not every Tom, ####### and Harry. Good luck.

OP,  please review the Visa Journey TOS.

No one here can accurately predict when or if your case will get resolved.  I agree with @Greenbaum, if you sent a bunch of random family members' tax transcripts, as your post indicates, that is not what they requested.

It is the weekend, so obviously nothing is happening there today.  You just have to be patient.

Knowing that you can have up to 2 co-sponsers

Source?

The number of co sponsors is irrelevant anyway. They are viewed independently - they cannot combine income or assets. They just need 1 satisfactory packet from a qualified co sponsor. Give them what they need and things should go fine.

Edit: It is generally not wise to send them a bunch of stuff they don't need hoping they will find what they do need out of it. There is a nontrivial chance they will see something that is insufficient and stop looking at anything else at that point.

Well there is no limit, but ideally people usually do up to 2 co-sponsers from what I've seen/heard. But yeah I'm praying that the affidavid and tax transcripts I sent are sufficient. I really want to have my wedding by the end of March, and I heard things like this can take up to 60 days so I am not planning anything out yet. I really appreciate your guy's insight, I just wanted to see usually how long such thing would take. On the 221g that was given it specifically says, "if your documents are complete, your immigrant visa will be sent to the PTT office of your choice within 1-2 weeks." So I am hoping what this means is that once they receive the missing documents they will send it within that time frame..

What is your sister's household size? Did you send an I-134 from your cousin? Otherwise sending in his TT is meaningless

We are in a pandemic and the governmental offices and the embassies are running with a skeleton and in some cases are completely closed. Nothing is going to happen until this virus dissipates. There will be action announced closer to the opening of the embassies on how they will address those who had interviews scheduled and those who want to schedule an interview. Also, if you have a NOA2 about to expire there is no reason to panic or be concerned. That too will be addressed by the embassies once they are closer to opening. We are in a wait and see mode till the embassies start opening again. BTW, this is my opinion and that is the embassies will begin to open with those that are in a less affected area then move on to those in highly affected areas. I believe that the embassies will reschedule those that were cancelled and then open the schedule for those who are ready to receive an interview date. Best place to be tuned in to what will happen at the embassy level is to be on their webpage because that is where the announcement and further instructions will be posted.
