Which is interesting considering Bernie is not technically a Democrat.

Well Trump isn't really a Republican. That's what happens when they try to contain every ideology and philosophy within two parties and a system that has evolved to discourage any real competition to that setup.

I think Bernie supporters are still upset with the hillary shenanigans of 2016 so you might be right, if he doesnt get the nomination. Again, i think superdelegates are such a stupid idea

The whole premise of superdelegates were to ensure the party brass had more leverage over candidates than voters. This is more revealing of the disdain these well-connected people have of every day Americans, to the point where they feel entitled to decide elections rather than the populace, in utter contrast to the nonsensical marketing they do every day about "democracy", "constitution", etc. It's why when I first registered when I turned 18 I knew to be DTS (decline to state/non party independent) and its one of the best choices ever made. The parties (especially the two major parties) serve the parties, and the connections they make (to facilitate/perpetuate their own power/influence/incumbency), and promote the football team mentality, which is an awful way to approach electing people to office. All it produces is fanaticism toward people the populace should be supervising, inventing criteria that has no logic whatsoever and shouldn't exist in elections ("I'm/you're wasting my/your vote if I/you don't vote for one of the two major parties!"). That sort of inverted thinking is precisely why parties can work to subvert elections and limit our choices.

Yep. Independents don't need to be "unbiased", nor "neutral", nor "fence sitting"/"moderate" (some of the biggest nonsensical FUD spread by party brass and fanatics is to try and marginalize independents into parties without actions that actually have direct party relationships).

Bernie:

- Votes with Democrats

- Caucuses with the Democrats

- Is involved in their party affairs

- Is running for President as a Democrat

He may be an independent (by technicality) but his clear party allegiance and subservience really makes being an independent moot. He is, for all intents and purposes, a Democrat.

Didn’t he turn Independent when the Democrats primaried him several years ago.  Kind of a wired connection to the Party that doesn’t even want him.

I have said before. Other than his comical pandering to the religious right, he is probably one of the more centrist Pub Presidents ever.
