Requesting records from USCIS

I moved to the US 10 years ago through my parents work. My mothers company had a law firm handle our permanent residence application from start to finish. Now that I am older, I want to have access to all my records, such as the completed Form I-485.

 

Would https://first.uscis.gov/ be the right place to request this, or should I be looking somewhere else?

 

Also, I'll be renewing my green card in the next couple of months -- will making a request like this slow down my renewal in any way? I read on some other threads here that it can, so just wanted to make sure.

I think you can use the FOIA to request your old documents.  It shouldn't slow down any renewal.
