I was waiting for interview for CR1 visa category and realized that my VISA class was C21, which was incorrect as I became US citizen before i-130 petition got approved. I called NVC this week & they said, a supervisor will the case. Told me to wait 4 wks.. Today my status changed to CR1. I also contacted my local congress office to expedite it. They sent the request same day. They only got response from NVC that they got request and  to wait for their response. No official response from anyone

Since, this was an error, should I expedite the case myself or wait for response from my congress office? I don't want to duplicate efforts here. I know my counsel office sent out IL Feb already so I kind of missed that batch. Not sure what expedite means. I would like to be in interview for March ppl

I don't understand your question.  Evidently you already sent an expedite request or one was sent on your behalf.  Now, you wait.

Also has been current for some time so not sure if there would have been a delay.

It was sent on my behalf by congress office. I don’t know their  process whether if it’s same as NVCExp email. I tried asking  for expedite request last year for different reason, congress office  always said  No because it didn’t qualify. I told them they don’t decide, they should let NVC decide  Then they would send regular inquiry on my behalf. Now that I got them to send one, I doubt if it’s same simply inquiry asking for review or asking NVC to expedite

I would hate for NVC to come back & say, they fix the issue, & Just wait for IL. This puts me 2 month delay.

Here is what my congress office sent me today in regards to inquiry/request

National Visa Center (NVC) has received your inquiry.  In our efforts to provide you and your constituent with the most accurate and up to date information, we are reviewing the status of this petition.  We will notify you when this review is complete.

doesn’t seem promising on expedite?

everyone who got DQ in Jan, already got IL, except me because I was in wrong category

What was your experience with them?

I had a somewhat weird RFE but that was about it.

No

I would be hard pushed to remember too many cases where an Expedite has been obtained through this route.
