Form I864 for interview???

I need help.. I have the interview scheduled on March 4 and preparing all the documents. The website states to bring “The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s. “ but my attorney who filed this paperwork is saying that the I864 and tax information is not needed for the interview. And I don’t have a saved copy of this form. 

I am confused as to what to do... does anyone have any answers. 

What do I bring exactly... to avoid any unnecessary delays???

Usually it’s not needed if everything has been sent to NVC but recommended to bring one. If you don’t have a copy, you can bring the updated i864 with latest paystubs and other documents.

Okay, thanks for your reply. The attorney told me that I only need to bring 2019 tax if it gets done before the interview.. which is not the case

if there are any  changes you need to bring it.

 

otherwise, it is not REQUIRED, but is also always a good idea. better to have items you dont need, than need them and not have them

How did you and your spouse sent this information from the lawyer? Email or mail? 

The lawyer need to have copy of everything. 

 

In my interview they asked for all in the list of documents that I uploaded on the NVC. Was the first thing they asked me to do when I arrived in the Embassy. 

 

My lawyer in that moment (I will never asked for the help of a lawyer again) tell me the same of your but I just told to my husband: "Is our case, my visa. If she is wrong this will cause some issues for us, not for her!!"

 

So my thoughts for you is: You and your spouse have the right to ask the lawyer all the paperwork you sent before.

 

Is better to have more than less information to show that!

But she is saying it’s not needed since it was already uploaded to NVC.
