I was impatient too - until I realized my fiance is leaving his entire life behind - including his elderly mother, who is happy for him to have found happiness, but heartbroken to see him go.

So I'm content to wait an extra week or so to give him the time he needs before we find a flight.

Ya know I got to be the same way right at the end (before that nearly a nut case with anticipation), waiting for Tim to come home. The realization of what, who and how much he was leaving behind set in and seemed extremely more important than the fact I missed him. Our non USC's leave so much behind for us yet it is so easy for us to want to rush them home and into our lives.

I am still living after waiting an additional month after his interview for him to fly here. :P

Thanks Bethanie - you described it much more succintly than I did. I told him last night that I'm anxious for him to be here, but that is coupled with me wanting him to do whatever he feels he needs to do. I'll live, as you said Bethanie, if I have to wait a few extra weeks. I'm sorry as I can be if anyone wants to make plans around that - my well meaning brother in law is dying to have a huge 4th of July get together, for example - but they're just going to have to be let down if it doesn't work out, ya know?

EVERYONE asks me all the time 'when's he coming?' Literally I hear it 50 times a day. I know they mean well, but its hard to answer it in a way that is 'acceptable' to them. Good thing for me that I've stopped giving a damn what they think.

I equate it to getting married and then everyone asking you 'when are you having kids'? (which is none of their business either!)

If people want to book flights before they have their passports back and are afraid they might be cutting it close they can always buy a flexible ticket (we did and it was worth every penny even if we didn't need it in the end).

BA usually offer flexible tickets for a bit more.

Ahhh hell we accept it, after all we have been through. People on the outside could never understand. Besides people in general are to darn worried about what everyone else is doing.

Thanks Robin - we may just look into that! :)

You're SO right. I tried to explain it to my mom and I think she just got exasperated that I was stressing out about people asking me. Oh well. That's why I have VJ and FBI. :D
