Address linked to Passport

Hello all. My fiance is traveling to the US from the UK next month on the VWP as usual. We are getting married during his visit and he is then returning home and were filing for the CR1. My questions is regarding his passport and current address. The one currently linked to his passport is his ex wife's address, the home they owned together. He currently just rents a room in a home one of his friends owns so he doesn't have a formal lease or utility bills in his name there. I'm wondering what address and proof he can use so as to not cause any problems one in getting the marriage license here but mainly two,  in what address and proof we provide for him when filing our petition? Does he need to change the address before coming here? Thanks all for your insight.

You don't need a proof of residency for the marriage license and you also don't need one for the I-130 so I can't see any problem. Use the address where he lives and receives mail.

Where I live both parties must show proof of residence when applying for the marriage license. I have to show it to prove residency to get married in the state, but the county I live in and have to apply in requires both parties to show proof no matter where they reside.

Then use his passport address.  In all likelihood, his passport will be he needs.  This is just a formality unrelated to immigration.  Not a visa question.  Please provide sufficient context when you ask a question.

As I stated in the original post I was mostly wondering  what address should be used for him once we apply for the CR1 so as to not cause any issues

Answer all questions truthfully.  WHen asked for his physical address, provide it.  You don't "use" addresses.  You answer truthfully.

A UK passport is not “linked to an address”. There is no address on the passport and the address you supply when applying for a UK passport is merely for the passport office to know where to send the new passport to. You don’t tell the passport office when you move.

What address is on his driving license?

Not sure which country you are in but for Milwaukee, for example, the proof of residency only applies to WI residents.

People from out of state only need a birth certificate and photo ID.
