Hello everyone ! I have some question here. Iv been Deviece now for 7 months . My x his been verbal and emotional abused since i came here but i was trying to keep with him. I tell my story to all my friends here and most of them they want me to report him so he'll be blocklisk and wont be able to get another filipina and be his slaves. I have long story but maybe someday i can share my story. My question is I have upcoming interview for my citizenship if ever they ask me why we getvdivorce do i tell them that his been verbal / emotional abused or just we dontt get along ? I read some article before that they will ask you why you get divorce.

I have another question way back 2014 and 2015 the IRS  audit us and everything is  paid  so we dont owe any to the Government should i mention it  or just forget ?  Theres one question saying taht if we owe anything in IRS so I put there NO since we did not owe anything.  When i file  my citizenship i used the 2016,2017 and 2018 taxes . I hope someone can give me advices here thank you and have a blessed day.

Are filing based off 3 or 5 year rule?

If divorced then you will likely be denied or told to withdraw or a considerate officer will adjust you to 5 year based app and none of all that will matter

Did you report the situation ?

Marriage /divorce relationship is not a consideration when you

are applying for naturalisation under the 5 year rule. If asked just state facts .. you were married. You divorced .

You don't have to be a citizen to report an abuse.

Do you have kids with him?

Nailed it.

As far as the IRS, as long as you don't owe any money, you are good. They don't care if you were audited. A lot of people get audited for various different reasons. If they ask, say yes and tell them everything, but I don't think they will care.

I believe USCIS will look into your 5 year history for anything before granting citizenship. So since you don't owe anything to IRA you can mention safely that you don't owe and paid your taxes on time. Whether 5 yrs or 3 yrs naturalization, they can look how you got your GC? on what basis. This cannot be ruled out. So be prepared to show case that your marriage was in good faith but things did not work out afterwards. You need to have all that supporting documents that gives bonafied marriage evidence just in case during your interview. Why to take chances. Take all that tells that your marriage was good until last 7 months or so? as I don't know when and how you got your GC?

In a nutshell, you cannot write wrong information on your application and be truthful if asked about your marriage.  2 cents.

So you are already divorced? Then in that case, just to be on safer side take all documents / pictures etc that supports that your marriage was entered in good faith. Just to be on safer side. I am assuming you have all that information? Is that right? Please gather before your went ahead with your divorce filing.. How long have you been married for? When did you get your GC? Was your GC based on Marriage?
