Hello everyone, please I want to know if it possible for my wife (USA citizen) can get Nigeria passport... while she come to Nigeria and if possible..I want to knw the requirement for it ..her surname has changed to mine.. thanks

As to the question, on the surface it appears possible, but I do not know the documentation required or how long it takes.  Maybe contact the Nigerian Consulate here in the US and see if she can get it here.

By registration: 26. (1) Subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, a person to whom the provisions of this section apply may be registered as a citizen of Nigeria, if the President is satisfied that -

  • (a) He is a person of good character; two people to testify to that which one should a Religious minister...
  • (b) He has shown a clear intention of his desire to be domiciled in Nigeria; and
  • (c) He has taken the Oath of Allegiance prescribed in the Seventh Schedule to this Constitution.

(2) The provisions of this section shall apply to-

(a) Any woman who is or has been married to a citizen of Nigeria or every person of full age and capacity born outside Nigeria any of whose grandparents is a citizen of Nigeria.

Your wife will need to contact a Nigerian foreign mission in her country of residence and request a spousal visa, if Nigeria has such a thing.
 

This page was updated in April 2019, so no guarantees this is what you need exactly, but have your wife contact a foreign mission.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

  A woman married to a Nigerian man can get a Nigerian passport or they can get a Niger wife visa  ( which is like a green card for Nigeria )    See here for details https://sidebrief.com/niger-wife-permit/
