Congratulation to all guys who got approved.

We finally know the reason why we got nothing from the USCIS.

USCIS said as my husband DOB is not same as their record, they put a processing error on our file.

My husband had sent many time to correct the DOB before, but they have not update yet.

So now they confirm the record had been updated and match with our application doc. they put an expedite tag on our file.

Not knowing why my husband call and ask so many time, but they keep told him the letter already sent

Hope we do not need to wait another half year again :(

So,  I was speaking with an attorney just wondering why some cases get approved months before some even if filed about the same time, even at the same processing center and even seeing cases get approved at processing center with even a longer processing time get approved before the shorter ones and the attorney said to me that she believes the state you are filing from makes a difference right now. She says that More democratic states are waiting longer than more republican states right now.
Do u guys think thats the case???

no..until my husband called them again and again on July, then they find out there is an error tag in our file.

And then they raise the case the to senior level to explains to him .

my husband called them in Apr, May, June, the staff keep telling him everything is fine they already mail the NOA1 to him and confirm the address again and again.

We don't know we were worrying if our application filled the wrong information so that they rejected us.

But actually my husband had been updated his DOB to the SSN office years ago,

but they still not yet update the system until this year our application is pending.

It was so depressing that waiting long time for nothing :(

Filed online from NY. Not sure if there’s any truth to what the Attorney said. Was just trying to understand why some cases get process and approved so quickly and some takes so long.

Sounds like wild speculation.

Our case was approved in 90 days.  One of the Bluest states - MA.   And it was a paper petition, mailed via USPS.

What I meant was, if you file online, you could be anywhere in the world (my USC husband and I live outside the US currently). Therefore, I don't think there's much truth to what the lawyer said. It looks really random  how they decide on cases right now, but who knows. Good luck to us who are waiting! 🙂

Nope not true at all. First of all, cases are randomly distributed to the service centers, you could live in Texas and your case still get sent to Nebraska. Second of all, political affiliation, whether personal or state majority, has nothing to do with the visa process, nor is it ever even considered at all by USCIS. What she is saying is baseless nonsensical b.s., many lawyers prove time and time again that they don't actually know squat about this process

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
