Good Evening all,

Just a quick question.I came in to US 2 weeks ago with an immigrant visa as a green card holder.Now i have been checking my case status online and says its takes minimum 120 days to receive it.What i am wondering is does the social security get sent with it or i have to go to the SSN office near me and apply for it? will appreciate your feedback.

SS card is sent separately and usually has arrived within 2 weeks of entering. If yours hasn’t arrived within 3 weeks I’d suggest going to the local SS office (take your passport with stamped immigrant visa) to enquiry.
