Alexandria peeps

Ok I'm not staying in a flat. He's described four to me and I just do NOT want to cook one thing the whole time I"m there. We were supposed to go to this far away place about 7 hours from Cairo but I ain't doin' that trip after 15 hours of flying!!

So.....I've read a million reviews and boiled it down to two hotels:

This one, which is supposedly in the heart of the city and easily accessible to everything:

or this one, which is I guess a bit removed from the city but has a private beach:

We love the action of all the people but it would be nice to get away from it all after. With the second one I am just afraid that it will take forever to get into the heart of the city since I've read horror stories about there being no traffic lights and it taking an hour or so to get from one end to the other.

So......................you guys can decided!!!

My husband and I had a flat.... I did cook for him so he could taste american cooking. And He loves my cooking... BUT... we did order in alot. Every place there delivers. Mmmmmmm i miss the griled lamb. It was nice haveing our own little apartment. Best to you and ur hubby

We had a flat the first time I went there. That's when I found out that I'm useless in a kitchen that does not have a microwave oven and a regular oven where you know what the heck degrees it's on.

Plus I kind of really want to just totally be pampered. Our life pretty much sucks lemons right now and we both deserve a nice treat.

Ok so that is three for the helnan palestine counting dee's hubby. As long as it's not managed by Hamas I'm good with that one. Actually......it was originally built for a summit that included the PLO, which also happen to be my mother's initials and caused her much havok through the years due to her luggage having her initials on them. But you all didn't need to know that.

Staying day 1 at his flat with his sisters, then going to Alexandria and spending day 2 through 7 there.

Which will be very confusing 'cause I have to make sure I don't have to unpack the humungous suitcase until I get to alexandria since I can't normally get it closed again until two people sit on it.

I just realised I got pictures of the Palestine hotel... and the grounds it is on... If you wanna see it.. AND there is a good "american" grocery store across the street from the park.. I say got to that one.. the park it is in used to belong to a King.. there is this gorgeous Palace... and the grounds are very nice.. Beautiful to walk around

Yeah but is there life and action? We're people people...i.e. we like to sit and people watch. When I think of a secluded hotel like that I picture me sitting by the pool with a drink in one hand and a good book in the other. Well I won't be in a bathingsuit obviously so sitting by the pool is out and I don't drink, so I'm thinking we'll be bored out of our trees.

I'm leaning towards the other hotel not because of the hotel itself...I don't think we'll spend much time in the actual room....though you never know..... ..................I would rather walk around amoung the hustle and bustle of the people I think.

Gawd I suck at making decisions and he's not helping much since he just wants me to be happy.

well.. there are people around.. and like anything else.. You just hop in a taxi to go to other area's.. I dont know.. I say this one... I can show you pics on line when I am home... and you can walk / taxi to other areas
