Bingo!!!   The Trump initiated tax cut has made a significant improvement in my tax situation.......and the US government is STILL receiving a record amount of tax revenue.......a win-win...

EDIT:  My wife and I both have income.  Now, thanks to the Trump tax cut, we both can keep more of OUR money in OUR pockets.....

Tax cuts without spending cuts are the federal equivalent of buying more with your credit card. One of the promises I would like to see DT deliver on was the whopper about lowering the deficit. Rhetoric aside, he has unfortunately gone in the other direction on that one.

Some of my liberal acquaintances are already claiming Russian interference in the 2020 election, and that Trump won’t win legitimately.  Talk about getting out in front of their TDS!!

It's funny that many on the Left are waking up to the fact that Trump won't be easy to best at all.

So your answer is lower taxes and a copy and paste of Robby Starbucks tweet? I think we could do a copy paste of the fanboys like this for any president.

Tax cuts were marginal for me. I came out worse last year. Came out better this year because I stopped doing some things that I would have deducted by itemizing before. Ultimately, without a corresponding lowering the federal budget, there is an unknown side to tax cuts that won't be apparent until it's time to pass the buck.

Trumps accomplishments and failures, IMO, are about the same as any other presidents. He hasn't done anything great and he hasn't screwed anything up any more than any other president. He is a generic, run of the mill leader with an excessive ego and a lot more detractors than he should have had. He would have got more done if he wasn't deliberately trying to humiliate or put down everyone he needs to work with, and if he didn't have the almost pathological need to look like he won every negotiation. That will be his legacy.

Not disagreeing with you about Trump's tactics, but Obama wasn't trying to humiliate or put down everyone, and I find his accomplishments to be less impressive than Trump's.

As for your own tax situation, it's obviously very individual, just as mine is.  But I never came out worse.  Yes, I lost some deductions (mortgage interest on my primary residence, many business expenses), but I came out ahead overall due to the massively increased standard deduction.

I think most people on the left (and right) already realized that Trump would be difficult (if not impossible) to beat. That should have been obvious after the 2016 primaries and federal election. It's why I always say Democrat's needed to focus on 2020 since that loss instead of wasting years trying to undo the whooping. They deserved to lose, and until they accept and understand why they deserved it, they are going to keep repeating it.

The counter to that is unless the Republicans can take back the house, we will likely see 4 more years of gridlock. I'm getting to old to for that.

Pretty much every single administration has.  Which makes sense, considering inflation, the desire for more "stuff" and all.  I'd love to see the US reverse this trend as much as you.  If we as the little people ran our lives the same way governments are run, we would all be bankrupt.

Individual situations aside, I support the tax cuts to the extent that they are going to take a crack at lowering the deficit. I haven't seen that yet.

I think MOST Americans would love to see the defect lowered.  I know I would.  It may seem impossible today, but there exist countries that operate on a positive budget.

Yes to all your questions. I was using North Korea as an example as everyone knows about the propaganda there and the personality cult is common knowledge but hilariously, you somehow asked me a series of questions that happen to all have the answer "yes".

I don't suppose you'd be willing to divulge your North Korean contact to back up your claim?

Nope, because it doesn't matter. Everyone knows what North Korean propaganda is and you don't need to have talked to North Koreans in person in order too know that. But I have. Also, I'm done with this thread.

Why am I not surprised?  Claims with no backing, a familiar MO.

As someone who has actually lived in Korea, I know your claim to have actually talked to a North Korean is horse hooey.  But you keep doing you.

I don't think there's any point in arguing when the other person won't change their mind but this was hilarious. It sounds like something a loyal North Korean would say. Thank you cracking me up.

Isn’t Bernie building a cult of personality?  Btw, the history of the two Koreas is very interesting.  When they were divided, the North was actually in a much better economic position than the South with most of the industry being in the North.  Fast forward 70 plus years and we know how that all turned out.
