Pictures/Evidence of a Relationship/Proof you Met

I notice that most/many applications have photos of the couple meeting within two years.

We have been together 6 years... anyone who's been in a long relationship knows that most pictures are taken in the first two years (the honeymoon phase) then after that you have kids and suddenly there are lots of pictures of the mom with the kids, the dad with the kids, but few with both mom and dad in them.

My question is... i have 2-3 pictures of me and my beneficiary that fall within the 2-year window. I have a lot of pictures that actually display romance and affection etc but they are older than that.  Is there any point in including them still, or will they be automatically discredited?

Is a child's CRBA (both our names on it, within two years)  a good idea to include?

Romance and affection pictures are not needed.  You only require evidence of having met once in the 2 years just before filing

I think that one picture and passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts are evidence of meeting....good luck.

We lived together from 2014-2019(when i returned to the US) and i'm now finding myself surprised by how little photo/document evidence there is that shows us together. Recently anyway.

Photos are actually secondary evidence.. They need documentation that proves that you have known her for that long... Things that bring the two of you together since you have a child... Birth certificates of your child showing your name as the father and hers as the mother... Documents that show both your names.... Travels (if you have) visas to show you stayed there arrival and exit stamps... etc

Speak the truth even if your voice shakes

Child birth certificate can be used if the kid is 1 year and 3 months old (or less). Not trying to be a smart ### here but that would "proof" you would have "met" in the last 2 years. If the kid is 3 years old it proofs you "met" 3 years and 9 months ago and that is not what was asked.

For the petition part the USCIS is looking for meeting  within the past 2 years and only that. The ongoing relationship may or may not come up at the interview part, that is country specific.

You should also provide  a written statement on how the two of you met, how  your relatationship developed over the time, your plans  for future etc.

Also a wittness statement  from someone who knows you story Can be usled as An addition - a family memmber as a wittness, or a close friend.

If you lived together for 5 years you'll have plenty of evidence. Don't stress too much over photos, when you'll have so much other evidence. Plane tickets/passport stamps will be fine, combined with being able to show you have kids together, it doesn't get much better.

I've heard this so many times. Yes they are secondary due to the ease of manipulation but at each interview, both abroad and in U.S., photographs were very much a large part of the interview process. I think having a dozen each time really helped solidify our case.

Just saying that although they are seen as secondary, photographs are a universal concept of cherishing.

In reality it boils down to where your fiance/spouse is from. If they are from a low fraud country, they are not really needed. I got the K1, AOS, ROC and N400 done without them. If you are from a high fraud country they are way more important. At the K1 stage it is extremely embassy/consulate specific.

The interviews in Amsterdam are not private. You wait less than 10 feet away from the window where people are being interviewed. During my interview there were several people from Holland we all sailed thru without any difficulty (less than 5 minutes a piece). There was one person from Nigeria (If I remember correctly). His interview was a lot longer than ours, more detailed and a lot more information was requested than from us. He was asked for photographs but only after he was not able to produce anything else but a marriage certificate for a CR-1 application.

4/5ths of what you said is not correct.

You need to show proof that you met the other person.  Nothing about relationship/plans/friends.

Primary evidence is independent proof that something happened.  A visa entry stamp is independent proof that you traveled to a place.  As is a plane ticket.  You really can't fake those things.

You CAN fake a written statment, photos etc.

The 'glue' that holds it all together is that you are signing an official document under penality of perjury.
