Hey everyone!

I was going to post in the 'introduce yourself' forum, but I thought, hey, what better way to introduce yourself than to your fellow canucks! :D

I first joined here way back in September when my intended made it clear that he would like to spend the rest of his life with me, and I with him.

So far, I have learned so much and I am grateful for it all because we are now in the process of getting everything together for the K-1. Only a few more items needed and we'll begin the journey :)

Ok...a little bit about myself and John. My name is Krystin by the way. (you can basically read our how we met story in my sig, but it's just not the same :lol:)

John and I are both living historians. We like to dress up in WWII clothing and educate the public at different events around the US. Or run around the wilderness shooting blanks at each other. I am on the Allied side, and John does German...it's kind of fun to have a different objective (find each other throughout the day and 'interrogate' each other :whistle: )

Anyway, we were introduced in Reading, PA and from the moment I saw him I knew that he was meant for me. He has said the same thing. It was truly, love at first sight. We spent the weekend together and then went back to our separate lives...soon to be intertwined lives.

Since then we have met many times, and we have only gone 3 days without having some kind of contact with each other...and each of those days were the hardest of my life :lol:

Now...I called John my 'intended' because, yes, we intend to get married and live a life of happiness, but John hasn't outright proposed...

He says he wants to do it right (one knee, the ring, the works) so we don't call each other fiance(e) yet :lol:

Anyway, we're hoping to have the paperwork finished and sent off in the next couple of weeks. I'm sure if I get stuck with anything I will be back here looking for the answer or asking y'all (his WV/VA influence haha) for answers :D

Welcome Krystin!... and good luck with your journey to the U.S. It can be a bumpy ride at times... frustrating at times... and downright sad at times... :crying: But through it all, know that it is most definitely worth the travail!!! :thumbs:

Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Even John loves their coffee now!

Today I went and got my digital prints of pictures of us together to send off with the application.

The more we get done, the more excited I get :D

Of course, when I say 'We' most of it is me...I'm the only one with a computer at the moment, and well...to be honest, I'm the organized one in this relationship :lol::whistle:
