Hi there, 

 

We are filling out the DS-160 form and have a few questions. I currently live in Buenos Aires with my fiancé and we are moving back together at the same time.

-Can we list me as his POC in the US Point of Contact section? I will be physically there at the same time as he's entering the US so I'm not sure how to answer this one.

-For the question "Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents, in the United States?" do we answer "No" because I'm not actually in the US currently? Again, I'll be there at the same time he's entering the US so not sure what to put here.

How long have you lived outside the US?  Can you prove that you have domicile in the US?

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I've lived in Argentina for two years but still have a permanent address registered in the US, go back to visit twice a year, vote in every election, etc. We will also be moving into my parents house, which is the legal address I have on my license. However, I did file my taxes last year using the FEIE and listed my residence as Argentina so it's a bit muddled.

OK.   I see no issues in listing you as US contact.  Just be prepared to demonstrate your US domicile at the interview...good luck.
